Mileage tracker app

A mileage tracker that shows what your miles cost.

TORQ Track is a mileage tracker app that logs your trips and odometer readings, then ties every mile to what it cost you: fuel or charging, maintenance, insurance and more. Use it for tax records, for gig driving, or just to know your cost per mile.

Free to start. No credit card. Works in your phone's browser on iPhone and Android.

Mileage and cost in one place.

Most mileage apps stop at a distance. TORQ Track keeps the miles next to the money: every fill-up, repair, insurance bill and toll, so your cost per mile updates as you log.

What you can do with your mileage log

Log a trip or an odometer reading in seconds, mark it business or personal, and let TORQ Track do the arithmetic.

  • Log trips and odometer readings, business or personal
  • See your cost per mile next to your mileage
  • Compare the IRS standard rate with actual expenses (Driver plan)
  • Export records as PDF or CSV when you need them

Manual logging vs. automatic GPS mileage apps

There are two kinds of mileage tracker. Automatic apps such as MileIQ and Everlance use your phone's GPS to detect drives in the background and ask you to classify them. TORQ Track does not track your location or GPS route; you enter trips and odometer readings yourself. Neither is better for everyone:

What a tax-ready mileage record contains

The IRS requires you to back up vehicle deductions with adequate records or sufficient evidence to support your own statement, and a log, diary or notebook is acceptable (see IRS Publication 463). A trip-by-trip log of date, miles and purpose, kept as you go, is far easier to defend than one rebuilt at tax time. Whichever app you use, keep it consistent. Parking fees and tolls for business are deductible separately whichever method you use.

As of October 2026 the IRS business standard mileage rate is 76 cents per mile for miles driven from July 1, 2026 (72.5 cents from January 1 to June 30). The 2026 IRS mileage rates guide has the medical and charitable rates and a worked example, and standard mileage rate vs. actual expenses explains how to choose a method. This is general information, not tax advice.

Mileage tracker FAQs

Quick answers. Read the full FAQ

What is a mileage tracker app?

A mileage tracker app records the miles you drive, usually with the date and the purpose of each trip, so you can deduct business driving, claim reimbursement, or understand what your driving costs. Some apps detect trips automatically with GPS; others, like TORQ Track, have you enter trips and odometer readings yourself.

Does TORQ Track track mileage automatically with GPS?

No. TORQ Track does not currently track your location or GPS route automatically. You enter odometer readings, trips and shifts yourself. If background drive detection is the main thing you need, an automatic mileage app such as MileIQ or Everlance is built for that job; TORQ Track is built for what those miles cost.

What does the IRS want in a mileage log?

The IRS requires you to substantiate vehicle expenses with adequate records or sufficient evidence to support your own statement, and a log, diary or notebook is acceptable. In practice that means a trip-by-trip record of date, miles and purpose, kept as you go rather than rebuilt at tax time. See IRS Publication 463 for the rules, and confirm your situation with a tax professional.

Can I use TORQ Track for personal mileage, not just business?

Yes. You can log business and personal trips and use the same data to see what your car costs per mile, whether or not you drive for work.

How does TORQ Track help me choose between the standard mileage rate and actual expenses?

TORQ Track Driver turns your logged fuel, maintenance, insurance and other vehicle expenses into an IRS actual-expense deduction estimate and shows it next to the standard mileage rate, so you can see which comes out ahead. It's an estimate to plan with, not a filed return.

Is there a free mileage tracker in TORQ Track?

Yes. The Free plan covers one vehicle with fuel, mileage and maintenance tracking and 3 months of history, with no credit card. Pro adds up to 5 vehicles and full history; Driver adds the earnings and tax-estimate tools for rideshare and delivery work.
